Israel attempts to break into Saudi markets
Saudi Arabia, Politics, 11/11/1999

The chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry in Riyadh, Abdul Rahman al-Jareisi, has indicated repeated Israeli attempts, in collaboration with foreign sides, to reach the Saudi market and damage the Saudi national economy.

In an exclusive statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Wednesday, al-Jareisi asserted that among these attempts, "Israel seeks to flood the Saudi market with Israeli products and commodities that were made in Israel and then re-exported to Saudi Arabia though changing labels on the products that show were the products were made," adding that all these attempt to weaken the instantly rising Saudi national industry.

Al-Jareisi said: "We have to equip ourselves by new and strong economic regulations and to be cautious so one who seeks to destroy our economy cannot sneak in."
