Russia, EU for durable peace in the Middle East

Russian deputy foreign minister and the Russian President's special representative to the Middle East peace process, Vasily Sredin, and the special European Union envoy for the Middle East peace process, Miguel Moratinos, have asserted that the Russian and EU stances on the realization of a lasting peace settlement in the Middle East are almost identical.
The two envoys stressed that Russia and the EU are determined to work with all people who support a just peace in the Middle East. They called for activating exchanges of views and coordinating efforts to back the process of having the peace process move quickly on all negotiation tracks.
The two envoys, furthermore, welcomed the convening of the first round of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations on the final status settlement.
