A solidarity festival with Iraq
Iraq, Politics, 11/11/1999

The Arab people's organizations and vocational trade unions on Wednesday extended an invitation to the secretary general of the Arab League to attend the second popular festival in solidarity with Iraq against the international embargo and the US-British strikes.

The rally will be held in Baghdad in December. The invitation was extended during the meeting held between the secretary general of the Arab League and the chairman of the permanent coordination committee in solidarity with Iraq. The committee was set up by the national conference for Iraqi vocational organizations, which was held in Baghdad in February, 1999.

Al-Dajani expressed his hope that continued Arab consultations will help settle all pending issues between Iraq and Kuwait and put an end to the sufferings of the people of Iraq resulting from the UN embargo imposed on it.
