King Mohammed appoints new interior minister

King Mohammed VI on Tuesday appointed Ahmed Midaoui as minister of the interior in replacement of Driss Basri, who held post since 1979, MAP reported.
The king relieved Basri of his tasks and thanked him for the services rendered to the Alawite throne.
King Mohammed VI also appointed Fouad Aali Al-Himma as secretary of state for the interior.
Ahmed Midaoui is former national security director general.
