Refining electoral schedules in Egypt
Egypt, Politics, 11/8/1999

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced the procedures for opening registration for citizens in the electoral schedules (lists of eligible voters) in different areas and in police stations in the different governorates, which will last until January 31 for those who are at least 18 years old according to the law's provisions.

The assistant minister of interior for the administrative affairs, General Ali Sameh, announced in a press conference held yesterday evening at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior special procedures for refining the electoral schedules and registration operations as appeal procedures concerning any requests for adjustment, addition or illumination, saying all reached 18 years are automatically registered in the electoral schedules and that this does not prevent them from registering their names in the electoral schedules.
