14 military members killed, injured in two terrorist attacks in Algeria

Algerian security sources announced yesterday the death of five members of the armed forces and the injury of another eight, including officers with the rank of colonel, in two separate attacks by a terrorist group in Algeria.

The security sources said that 10 armed terrorists with Klashinkov rifles broke into a restaurant in Boumerdes state in eastern Algeria where officers from the army were having dinner. The terrorists, some of whom were wearing military police uniforms, shot at the officers and killed a major officer and two captains, while eight other officers among whom are two colonels were injured in the attack.

In another attack, two soldiers were killed when a terrorist group broke into a military barracks in the western state of Gleezan.
