Tourism demand is strong in Bethlehem

The city of Bethlehem has been witnessing since last month an unpreceded expanded tourism movement, and it is expected that the numbers of tourists and Christian pilgrims are to increase more and more with the approach of celebrating the end of the second millenium since the birth of Jesus Christ.

Nicola Tanwati, one of the investors in the tourism sector, told ArabicNews.co that Palestinian and Israeli tourism companies raised their prices due to the increasing demand and reservations on their tourism boats.

He expected that the number of tourists who will visit Bethlehem may increase to 2 million, adding that this matter inspires optimism as the number of tourism buses varied in the last week between 120 and 160 buses daily and is expected to be doubled in December.
