Mubarak grants medal of merit to Syria's ambassador to Cairo

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa emphasized on the relation's strategy between Egypt and Syria.

In his speech at the celebration of the Medal of Merit granted by Egyptain President Hosni Mubarak to Esah Darwish, Syria's ambassador in Cairo in appreciation for Darwish's efforts to boost bilateral ties through his 10 years in Cairo, Moussa said that Egyptian - Syrian relations are strong and tight, denying what was repeated about coolness or disputes between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Esah said, "The Egyptian - Syrian relations are very useful for the two people's interests and serve the Arab nation's causes toward achieving peace, stability and progress in the area."

In answering a question about his current evaluation of Egyptian - Syrian relations, Darwish said, "It's in the best case," expressing his hope of deepening and developing cooperation between the two states in the future in all fields.
