El-Baz: Egypt supports all progress in the peace process
Egypt, Politics, 11/8/1999
The political advisor of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Osama El-Baz, said the aim of President Mubarak's meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat is supporting the peace process to reach final status negotiations.
El-Baz told ArabicNews.com today that the conference held in Sharm El-Sheikh resulted in signing the note of understanding, adding that Egypt is committed to achieving progress in the peace process.
He said that after the Sharm El-Sheikh note, several commitments were implemented and some disputes took place between the two sides due to the settlement process, depicting the Israeli settlement in the Arab and Palestinian lands as an "illegal activity that severely harms the peace process."
