Iran for helping Lebanon rebuild
Lebanon-Iran, Politics, 11/8/1999

Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi met on Sunday in Tehran with Lebanese Minister of Transport and Public Works Najib Meiqati, currently visiting Iran.

Stress was laid on the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries. Kharazi stressed the importance of boosting economic cooperation between Iran and Lebanon. He expressed the readiness of Iranian companies to rebuild Lebanon.

Meiqati, for his part, called for increasing the level of economic relations between the two countries to that of the political relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Iranian Minister of Transport and Communications Mahmoud Hijati discussed with Meiqati means of developing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of sea, land and air transport. Hijati expressed Iran's readiness to cooperate with Lebanon in various areas of transport.
