Iranian president confers with Saudi oil minister

Iranian President Muhammad Khatami on Sunday received in Tehran the Saudi Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Ali al-Nueimi.
Following the meeting, the Saudi minister said he discussed with the Iranian president the oil market and the importance of oil coordination between Saudi Arabia and Iran, as well as the importance of cooperation among the oil-producing countries inside and outside OPEC for the stability of oil prices in the short and long terms.
On Saturday evening the Saudi oil minister arrived in Tehran to take part in a conference on gas resources in the Gulf region.
