King Mohammed receives French premier
Morocco-France, Politics, 11/6/1999

King Mohammed VI received on Friday in Marrakesh visiting French Prime Minister, Lionel Jospin.

The meeting was attended by Moroccan Premier, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, Royal Advisor, Andre Azoulay, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister, Mohammed Benaissa.

The French party included Foreign Affairs Minister, Hubert Vidrine and Ambassador to Morocco, Michel de Bonnecorse.

Lionel Jospin and Youssoufi had co-chaired in Fez, central Morocco, the third meeting of the Moroccan-French High Joint Commission.

Talks with King Mohammed VI covered questions related to Moroccan-French relations, Jospin told reporters after the royal audience. He added that he informed the King on the outcome of the Joint Commission meetings.

"We have also tackled larger dimensions, including the Maghreb, Euro-Mediterranean relations and ties between Morocco and the European Union," he said. Other international issues were raised, Jospin said.
