Tehran to participate in Cairo International Fair next March
Egypt-Iran, Economics, 11/6/1999
Mogtabi Khestortag, the Iranian deputy trade minister and head of the exports development center, said the trade volume between Egypt and Iran is weak, despite the strong historical relations between the two countries.
He added, "Increasing the trade volume between the two countries depends on the ministries of foreign trade and economy and the business organizations in the two countries."
This came during the symposium held yesterday in Cairo under the title "Means of boosting and developing economic cooperation between Egypt and Iran," on margin of the Iranian fair's activities in Egypt.
Khestortag said that establishing the first fair for the Iranian products in Egypt comes after a 21-year absence of an Iranian presence in Egypt and that establishing the fair also comes after the Egyptian participation in Iran's international fair, according to the agreement signed between the two countries recently regarding exchanging participation in the fairs held by each other.
He referred to Iran's participation in Cairo International Fair, which is to start on March 1, 2000.
