Tunisian budget reaches 10 billion dinars

An official source said that Tunisia's budget for the year 2000 will increase for the first time to 10 billion Tunisian dinars, estimated at US $9 billion.
The same source added that the Tunisian cabinet on Wednesday discussed a project in this regard at a cost of 10,510 billion dinars, which represents an increase over the previous budget at 9.6%.
The source explained that the new budget concentrates in particular on work opportunities, area developments, education, researches, higher education, vocational training and culture.
Concerning job opportunities some 60 million dinars will be allotted for the national fund for labor 21- 22 so as to be operational as of the beginning of the year 2000 this fund is named 21-22 according to the bank account, where obligatory contributions and donations by individuals or companies are refunded.
The fund 21-22 will replace the "national fund for insurance" or 26-26 which had worked for approximately 10 years.
