King Mohammed visits pupils' house near Marrakesh

King Mohammed VI visited Thursday the Girl-Pupils' House in the Ourika community, in the Marrakesh region, as part of activities held within the solidarity campaign opened early this week by the king.

The school, built to meet the educational and boarding needs of girls from neighboring villages, caters to 50 girls who completed the first three-year cycle of secondary school and who enroll for another three-year syllabus before entering college.

At a later stage, the school will expand to provide teaching programs and facilities for 150 boarders.

It is meant to encourage girls from surrounding mountain areas to complete basic school and strive for further education and integration in the country's social and economic development.
