Heavy Israeli bombardment against south Lebanon

The Israeli occupation forces on Thursday continued their intensive artillery bombardment of the areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon, resulting in setting off fires in plantations and olive orchards. In retaliation to these attacks, the Lebanese resistance attacked three positions held by Israeli troops and their militia agents in Hadatha, Sujoud and Qabaa Markaba. Direct hits were achieved against the positions.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces bombarded the northern outskirts of Habboush town, using 155 mm shells, from its positions in al-Zaffata.

Lebanese security sources in south Lebanon said the Israeli occupation forces carried out a mopping up operation against the outskirts of Majdal Zoun, al-Mansouri and Zibqin town, using heavy artillery from its positions in al-Hardoun and Shehein. Fire ablaze set in the said areas and the Israeli occupation forces prevented the Lebanese civil defense team from fighting the fire.

On Thursday, the Israeli occupation forces also bombarded the heights of al-Westani mountain, al-Daher mountain and Meimas crossing in the western Bekaa.

News reports from the western Bekaa Valley said that an Israeli bulldozer on Wednesday removed soil piles between Zamraya crossing and al-Hasbani road and on Thursday opened the Zamraya crossing which has been closed off since last Friday.

For its part and in retaliation to the Israeli attacks, the Lebanese resistance on Thursday afternoon attacked military moves for the Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army militia inside the occupation and the joint SLA - Israeli position in Hadatha in the central sector.

In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said direct hits were achieved.
