Journalists union says it will carry on struggle
Morocco, Politics, 11/4/1999
The Moroccan journalists union SNPM said it will carry on struggle for the improvement of the material and moral situation of public and private media professionals.
After it called journalists to continue their mobilization, the SNPM, which held recently a meeting of its national council, called as "positive" the statement released by the communication ministry following a protest movement staged a week ago by journalists working in state-owned media.
The ministry voiced readiness to open dialogue with the journalists on their claims related to the law governing their work conditions and material situation.
However, the union said there are urgent measures on issues that have been pending for years.
