Belgian general heads U.N force in Sahara

United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, appointed Belgian Gen. Claude Buze as commander of the military force of the U.N Mission in the Sahara (MINURSO).
Gen. Buze replaces Austrian Gen. Bernd S. Lubenik, whose contract expired on Oct. 31.
The Belgian General's appointment was approved by the Security Council members.
