King Mohammed determined to remain close to southern provinces inhabitants
Morocco, Politics, 11/4/1999
A ministerial delegation on Wednesday informed representatives of the southern provinces inhabitants of the determination of King Mohammed VI to remain close to them.
A royal message, conveyed by the delegation, renewed the King's will to grant constant and keen interest to the concerns of the southern provinces inhabitants.
The delegation's visit takes place few days after the creation by King Mohammed VI of a Royal Commission in charge of Saharan Affairs. The Royal Palace had also announced the activation of the royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs based on honest and transparent elections.
The Royal message equally voices the king's determination to perfect and defend Morocco's territorial integrity within international legality, to intensify efforts for the economic and social development and to consolidate the rule of the law.
The delegation included Interior Minister, Driss Basri, Endowments and Islamic Affairs minister, Abdelkebir Alaoui M'daghri, Economy and Finance Minister, Fathallah Oualalou.
The visit comes on the eve of the celebration by Morocco of the 24th anniversary of the Green March (November 6), which liberated the southern provinces from the yoke of Spanish occupation
