Indonesian ambassador in Cairo: No relations with Israel

The Indonesian ambassador in Cairo, Mohammed Coreeish Shehab, stated that Indonesia will not establish any relations with Israel before giving back all occupied Arab lands and the Palestinian people gets their full rights, the most important of which is establishing an independent Palestinian state.
He also said, "What was said by new Indonesian President Abd El-Rahman Wahid regarding establishing commercial relations with Israel came spontaneously and does not form a step in this matter," clarifying that the Indonesian president assured during his meeting with the Arab ambassadors in Jakarta days ago that Indonesia is the largest Islamic country in the world and pays a special concern to the issue of Jerusalem cause and urges solving it on the basis of UN resolutions.
