Morocco's telecom company reduces tariffs

The Moroccan Telecom company announced on Tuesday a new reduction of fixed and mobile phone call tariffs.
GSM subscription fees went down from 300 dh ($1 is 9 dh) to 200 dh (tax excluded), while calls were brought down to 2 dh from 2.67 dh per minute. The GSM pack price was also reduced from 825 dh to 725 dh.
The national fixed phone calls beyond 35 km were reduced from 1.78 dh per minute to 1.60 dh.
The cuts were decided in view of the considerable fall in equipment costs and the encouraging results posted by the telecom company.
The company also decided to change its name from Ittissalat Al-Maghrib to Maroc-Telecom.
