Supreme committee for reconciliation in Sudan convenes its first meeting

The supreme committee for reconciliation and peace convened its first meeting yesterday in Khartoum, headed by Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir.

It was decided in the meeting to divide the committee's work into three main points, the first of which is peace, the second is working with the registered political forces according to the political succession law and the third is the reconciliation with the northern opposition parties.

The committee discussed its configuration for its meeting on next Tuesday to draw up the work plan necessary to implement the tasks the committee is authorized to carry out.

The committee's decision maker, Sudanese Transportation Minister Lam Akhol Ajawin, said the committee is the only front authorized to achieve Sudanese peace and rapport, referring to the possibility of having the aid of some fronts that could enable it to achieve its tasks.
