Egyptian sources: Clinton will call for Palestinian - Israeli summit for final status negotiations
Egypt-Egypt, Politics, 11/2/1999

Diplomatic sources in Cairo expected today that US President Bill Clinton will convene a summit like the 1979 Camp David summit at the beginning of the coming year to handle the final status of the Palestinian lands.

The sources also expected to reach in February a primary agreement for signing a final and comprehensive agreement before September 2000.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian official in charge of the Jerusalem file, Faisal El-Husseini, headed to Bonn to holding talks with German officials in their attempt to pressure Israel to achieve progress in the peace process.

Palestinian sources told ArabicNews.com that El-Husseini met today with the German foreign minister, and they discussed the peace process developments in general and the trilateral summit in Oslo, in which President Mubarak refused to participate.
