Asian tour for assistant foreign minister to discuss Egypt joining Asian group

Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Nagi El-Ghaterifi is starting today with his escorting delegation an Asian tour, during which he will visit China, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore and which will last until the middle of November.

El-Ghaterifi told ArabicNews.com that he will participate during his visit to China in a symposium organized by academy of political sciences in Bejing on November 5 - 6 regarding Egyptian - Chinese relations on the 50th anniversary of establishing the People's Republic of China.

He added that he will hold consultations with high-ranking officials during his visit to the capitals of these countries that tackle bilateral relations between Egypt and these countries and means of boosting them. He will also ask these countries to support Egypt's membership request as a discussion partner in the Asian group.
