Alitalia resumes trips to Algeria today
Algeria-Italy, Business, 11/2/1999
Sources in the Algeria Ministry of Transportation stated yesterday that the Italian airline company Alitalia will resume its trips to Algeria today with two trips weekly after a four-year stop, saying that this will contribute to developing the passengers' movement and giving a new push to commercial exchange, as Italy is considered one of Algeria's main partners.
The Italian embassy in Algeria said in a statement recently that Italy will be the first airline company in the European Union to resume its trips to Algeria, adding that the company will use MD-80 airplanes, which contain 133 seats, in its trips.
An airplane affiliated to Alitalia Company landed during September at Hawary Bu Madian airport in Algeria to transport an Algerian sports delegation participating in the African games which were held in Johannesburg.
