Cairo to host meetings of international organization for tourism and hotels in 2001

Cairo will host on October 25 - 29, 2001 the meetings of the international organization for tourism and hotels (IH-RA) located in Paris, whose board of directors will be headed by Jordanian tourism expert Osman Aidi, head of the Arab union for tourism and hotels.
A press statement issued by the Egyptian chamber of hotel establishments today said that it is expected that more than 2,000 members of the organization will participate in these meetings and that the conference will be held in the Cairo International Convention Center in Cairo.
It added that the meeting will discuss health and environmental causes, tourism and travel facilities among international countries and the relation among the international economic and tourism organizations in addition to discussing the future world of restaurants and hotels through the most modern technology in this field.
Egypt won these meetings after a stiff competition with the Turkish city of Istanbul and with the US city of Las Vegas. The organization includes 150,000 members, and it will convene its coming meetings in October 2000 in London.
