Acts of violence in Algeria

The Algerian daily al-Khabar said on Sunday that two policemen were killed by the armed group in Baghlia district in Boumerdes province.
In its Sunday issue the paper added that the Algerian security sources continued the vast mopping-up operations in al-Aqda mountains in search of those who committed the al-Agwat crime, which claimed the life of a 12-member family. The paper added that the police found one kidnapped girl and rescued her, while another was found slaughtered.
On Saturday the Algerian dailies La Tribune and al-Alam al-Seyassi said the gunmen killed 12 persons from one family on Thursday evening in Tadmout near al-Aghwat, 400 km south of the capital Algiers
The paper added that a bomb went off at al-Shuhada cemetery in Chlef province and resulted in the death of one citizen.
For its part, the Algerian daily al-Aseel said that three armed group members surrendered themselves to the authorities concerned in Mila and Constantine provinces and another five in Sidi Bel Abbes province under the provisions of the civil concord law.
For its part, the Algerian daily al-Youm said the armed groups had killed one army officer and two soldiers while in their car in Tizi Ouzou province.
