Renowned Sudanese singer dies at 70

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Sunday eulogized renowned Sudanese artist Ahmad Mustafa who died on Saturday at 70. The late Sudanese artist was also eulogized by the Sudanese Ministry of Culture and all Sudanese mass media.
Sudanese singer Ahmad Mustafa (better known as the pillar of the Sudanese art) had given during his long singing career, which lasted almost 50 years, some 80 songs, most of the music for which was composed by him.
Mustafa was famous for introducing the ode to music in Sudan. He took part in establishing the music institute and the theater and in disseminating the Sudanese singing in the Arab states and the African continent. He used to have strong ties with the renowned, late Egyptian singer Um Kalthoum, and he had many songs with the Lebanese singer Sabah.
