New London-Marrakesh direct flight as of Sunday
Morocco, Business, 10/30/1999
The Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will service as of Sunday two direct London-Marrakesh flights every Thursday and Sunday.
The move is meant to promote the Marrakesh bound and to spare British tourists the transit via Casablanca, RAM representative in the UK said at a meeting in London with British tour operators.
With the new flights, RAM will be servicing nine flights per week between Britain and Morocco.
In 1998, more than 105,000 British tourists visited Morocco, recording a 26.4% increase compared to 1997 when their number stood at 83,000.
In Rabat, the private air company Regional Airlines announced it will start servicing as of November 2 an international Casablanca-Gibraltar line with a flight every day except on Saturdays.
Regional Airlines is servicing five other international lines, namely Casablanca-Malaga, Tangier-Malaga, Casablanca-Las Palmas, Agadir-Las Palmas and Casablanca-Lisbon.
