French defense minister arrives today in Cairo

French Defense Minister Alain Richard will arrive today in Egypt on a two-day visit, during which he will meet with Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the Egyptian defense minister.
Richard is expected to check on the French forces participating in the Bright Star 99 training, as well as to hold talks with high-ranking leaders in the Egyptian armed forces regarding many topics of joint concern like providing the Egyptian army with developed military equipment and spare parts for the French weapons used by the Egyptian armed forces.
By visiting Cairo, Richard will conclude his Arab tour which included Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
