Chinese President in Algiers today

Chinese President Jiang Zemin will arrives today in Algiers for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

In statements to SANA's correspondents in Algiers, diplomatic sources said that the visit of the Chinese president is more than important due to the weight China enjoys on the international level on the one hand as well as to add a new stone in the relations between the two countries, relations that date back to before Algeria received its independence.

The diplomatic sources in Algiers added that this visit will be directly reflected in several areas of cooperation, especially in the sectors of health, agriculture, irrigation, housing, tourism, technology transfer and industry.

The sources expected that during the visit agreements will be signed on establishing joint companies in the fields of food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and textile industries.

The sources indicated that China, at the meantime, is implementing several great projects in Algeria especially projects pertaining to main infrastructures.
