Morocco participates in Tokyo's African fair
Morocco-Japan, Economics, 10/29/1999

Morocco is taking part this October 28 through November 1 in the African fair of Tokyo with seven pavilions.

A wide variety of Moroccan products, including agro-food, textile, leather and handicraft products, will be displayed by private companies and the Moroccan Center for Exports Promotion.

The event is held in follow up of the second international conference of Tokyo for development in Africa (Oct. 98).

The Japanese Foreign Trade Center will also hold conferences on investments and trade in Africa.

In 1998, Japan stood as Morocco's 4th client and 11th supplier. Despite the economic and financial crisis in Japan over the two last years, Japan's trade with Morocco totalled in the first half of 1999 $224.5 million, growing by 21% in comparison with last year. Moroccan-Japanese trade records a $92.8 million surplus for Morocco.
