Al Alam reports trouble in Tindouf camps
Morocco, Politics, 10/29/1999
A strained atmosphere prevails lately in Tindouf camps in the aftermath of a rebellion within the Polisario's leadership, reports the Al Alam daily of the Istiqlal party (government).
The separatist leadership, a faction of which rebelled against Mohamed Abdelaziz, going through seditious hard times, arrested five young Sahrawis from the Oulad Dlim tribe under the charge of sabotage of the Polisario radio station.
The arrest was made at a time when Ayoub Lahbib and Bachir Mustapha Sayed and followers are entrenched in the Aouessard and Smara camps, calling for the annulment of the Polisario's 10th congress decisions, namely the ones discarding several members of the leadership, says Al Alam.
