ONCF gets 55 million euros financing

The National Railways Office (ONCF) and the European Investment Bank passed Tuesday in Luxemburg a contract extending ONCF a 55 million euro financing.
A railways release said the money would finance rectification works and twinning of the railway connecting Meknes to Fez.
Once completed in 2003, the railway line between Casablanca and Fez will be fully twinned for two-line trafic.
A similar contract, worth 85 million euros, was passed by the two partners for the twinning of the line between Kenitra and Sidi Slimane 1997.
