135,000 road accidents in Saudi Arabia in 1997

The total number of road accidents in the Saudi Arabia reached 135,000 in one year, resulting in 3,474 deaths and 128,727 injuries. A statement issued by the Saudi Interior Ministry today said the Saudi interior ministry intends to organize an information campaign through newspapers, magazines, radio and television make drivers aware of the harm caused by excessive speed.
