Iraq accuses Iran of planning to assassinate Iraqi officials

The Iraqi Youth TV broadcast tonight interviews with the four Iraqis whom were accused of collecting information's about the governmental corporations and officials in the state and assassinating former Iraqi Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs Abdullah Fadel.

In their interviews, the four persons said they received financial support from Iran, which urged then to assassinate the former Iraqi minister quickly. The killing took place on January 11, 1997, and they admitted planning to assassinate the Iraqi ministers of industry and minerals and of transportation yet they did not implement the operations for unstated reasons.

They also admitted to exploding the car of one state employee and collecting information about the Ministry of Interior and governmental corporations.
