Moroccan minister, Dallas mayor meet over city management

Moroccan minister of social development, solidarity, employment and vocational training, Khalid Alioua, met in Dallas on Wednesday the mayor of Dallas, Ronald Kirk, on local management.
The mayor of Dallas, which is hosting a Moroccan festival this October 27-30, briefed the minister on the election mode and prerogatives of the city hall that comprise public utilities, such as public transportation, water supply and civil guard.
Alioua, who is also the government's spokesman, talked about Morocco's economic potentials, mainly in food industry and tourism.
Morocco is honored at Dallas' first African festival, with the participation of Moroccan artists and officials.
The festival features a conference on trade and investment in Morocco to explore trade opportunities between Morocco and the USA. A series of exhibitions on Moroccan arts and handicraft, music concerts, traditional dance performances are scheduled in addition to the screening of movies on tourism in Morocco.
On the occasion of Halloween, a contest will reward the best Arab-inspired costume.
A similar event will be held for Nigeria.
