Syria provides Lebanon with natural gas

Syria and Lebanon are getting ready to put the final touches on an agreement according to which Lebanon is to purchase 3 million cubic meters of Syrian natural gas daily.
Economic sources in Damascus said today that the agreement reached its final stages and it is expected to be resumed at the beginning of the coming year.
The sources said that the project states extending pipelines between Homs in Syria and Deirghmar in northern Lebanon of 105 kilometers to the El-Zahrani area in south Lebanon at a cost of $125 million.
Syria agreed after negotiations that started in 1997 to provide Lebanon with 3 million cubic meters of gas daily in the first phase.
