GCC confers with British foreign minister

Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Sheikh Jamil al-Hujeilan met on Wednesday in Riyadh with British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Peter Hain, who arrived in Riyadh earlier in the day.

During the meeting the two sides discussed relations between the GCC member states and the European Union member states and means of reviewing them.

They also reviewed items of the 9th meeting between the EU ministers and their counterparts in the GCC due to be held in Abu Dhabi on November 2.

The latest developments in the Arab and international arenas were reviewed. Meantime, the Saudi foreign minister prince Saud al-Faisal met with Hain and members of the accompanying delegation.

Bilateral relations between the two countries and regional and international matters of mutual concern were reviewed Haine arrived in Riyadh earlier in the day in a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia.
