Jordanian premier meets Turkish, WB officials

Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh met on Wednesday in Amman with a Turkish parliamentary delegation led by Kamran Anna, the chairman of the foreign relations committee at the Turkish parliament. The two sides reviewed Turkish-Jordanian cultural relations and the importance of developing them in all areas.

The two sides also reviewed the Middle East peace process and the efforts exerted with the objective of implementing signed agreements, especially between the Palestinian Authority and Israel.

Earlier in the day, the Jordanian prime minister discussed with the director of the World Bank, Peter Woicke, who is also the deputy executive president for the International Finance Corporation, and members of the accompanying delegation the question of the Bank's contribution to several project in Jordan.

Al-Rawabdeh reviewed his government's efforts to develop the Jordanian economy and increase its growth, as well as the measures taken by the Jordanian government to create an investment environment.

For his part, Woicke showed interest in the possibility of the bank's financing of certain small and intermediate industries in certain Jordanian sectors. He stressed commitment to encouraging investment through the contributions of the private sector in this respect.
