Fire broke out in a car of Musharraf's motorcade in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia-Pakistan, Politics, 10/27/1999

Saudi officials said that a fire broke out in one car belonging to Pakistani military ruler Lt. Gen. Bruweiz Musharraf's motorcade in Saudi Arabia yesterday.

Pakistani diplomatic sources said the fire broke out in a car in the motorcade due to a problem concerning electricity. Everybody got out safely.

Another official said that Musharraf's car was 500 meters away from the fire.

The officials followed up on the accident, which took place on the highway between Mecca and Jeddah, adding that Musharraf resumed his travel to the meeting with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah in industrial city of Yanboa in western part of the country.

Musharraf assumed power in Pakistan in bloodless coup in which he toppled Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on October 12.

Musharraf arrived in Saudi Arabia on his first foreign visit after assuming power.
