Executive office of Arab electricity ministers council holds meeting in Cairo

The five-member executive office of the Arab council of electricity ministers held its ninth meeting at the Arab league headquarters Tuesday.

Saudi Minister of industry and electricity, Hisham Yemani, told reporters the meeting discussed a number of issues on the agenda and is due to report its findings to the council Ministers.

The officials discussed the work in the power grids among the Arab states including the one in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, in addition to the role of funds and institutions, topped by the Arab economic and social development fund, he said.

The role of the Arab electricity ministers council in supporting the grand Arab free trade zone was also debated.

The executive office groups Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Libya.
