Jordanian-Israeli symposium to mark Wadi Araba agreement
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 10/27/1999
A symposium was held on Tuesday on the coast of Tabaraya lake on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of signing the Wadi Araba treaty between Jordan and Israel.
Israel Radio quoted Jordanian Minister of Tourism Aqel al-Beltaji, who attended the seminar, as saying that Jordan and Israel have surpassed the recent tensions that prevailed relations between the two sides following recent incidents during which a Jordanian Parliamentary delegation was hit in Hebron by Israeli settlers.
Al-Beltaji added that Israel and Jordan are working to ease matters and to deal with the complaints properly. He noted a small decrease in the number of Israeli tourists who are visiting Jordan.
