Qatar - Jordan business agreements
Jordan-Qatar, Economics, 10/27/1999

Jordan and Qatar have signed several business agreements as expressed in the joint minutes of meetings signed at the conclusion of the meetings of the joint Jordanian-Qatari high committee chaired by the two countries' prime ministers, Abdul Illah al-Khatib and Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber al-Thani.

On the bilateral level, the two sides agreed to develop existing cooperation relations in all areas and studying ways of expanding this cooperation to cover vaster areas in the near future.

The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding in the area of tourism, a cooperation agreement in the fields of standardization, media and culture, education, the law and communications. They expressed satisfaction over increasing trade exchange volume.

The Qatari side promised to study the draft project of the free trade agreement, proposed by the Jordanian side as well as to complete measures to sign the agreement on avoiding double taxation.
