King Abdullah meets with Qatari FM

King Abdullah of Jordan on Tuesday in Amman discussed with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem al-Thani the Middle East peace process and efforts exerted to back the process on all tracks, especially in this "crucial stage of the final phase of the Palestinian- Israeli negotiations."

Talks dealt with the current conditions in the region and the two states' stances regarding them, as well as the need to back joint Arab cooperation and strengthen Arab solidarity.

The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries.

Earlier in the day, Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh listened to explanations made by Sheikh Hamad on the meetings of the joint Qatar- Jordanian higher committee which concluded its meetings under the chairmanship of the two countries' foreign ministers.

Meanwhile, In a speech he delivered at the conclusion of the meetings, Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib stressed that the question of peace in the Middle East is still the pivotal cause of the Arab states. He stressed that the coming phase, of great hardships and surprises requires the utmost backing for "our Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian brothers in their effort to restore their legitimate rights, foremost being their right to restore their usurped occupied lands, to live peacefully and build the better future for their coming generations."
