Indonesian President: No diplomatic relations with Israel

Arab ambassadors accredited in Indonesia said on Monday that they had received assurances from the new Indonesian President Abdul Rahman Waheed that his country will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel before guaranteeing the restoring back of all occupied Arab territories including the occupied Syrian Golan heights and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
News reports quoted the Palestinian ambassador in Jakarta as saying that the Arab states highly appreciate the stand taken by the Indonesian government in not to implement diplomatic relations with Israel at the meantime. A matter which was asserted by the Indonesian President during his meeting with some 16 Arab ambassadors accredited to Jakarta.
In his first speech following the taking oath ceremony of the post of President of Indonesia, Waheed announced that " Economic ties can be established between Indonesia and Israel."
