Establishing an industrial Chinese city in Egypt

The Egyptian government agreed yesterday to a project to establish the first Chinese industrial city in the Middle East, which will be established in 6th of October City (25 kilometers south of Cairo) with investments of 200 million pounds.
Hani Serour, head of the project, said the Chinese city will be established on 40,000 cubic meters and will include 30 factories, in addition to a specialized center for technology that will be established in two phases in which the Egyptian side will participate with 60% and the Chinese side with 40%.
He added that 50% of this city's production is expected to be exported and that the project is to be completed in the year 2002.
