Italy, Egypt for boosting trade relations

Egyptian Prime Minister Atef Ebeid on Sunday in Cairo received Italian Foreign Trade Minister Piero Fassino, currently visiting Egypt.

Egyptian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Youssef Butrous Ghali attended the meeting.

The Italian minister expressed his admiration over Egypt's achievements in the field of economic reforms and in attracting investments.

He said he is accompanied by some 70 Italian businessmen who will play a role in promoting the volume of trade between the two countries and in encouraging Egyptian exports to Italy, especially non-traditional agricultural crops and flowers.

For his part the Egyptian minister of the economy said an agreement was made between the two countries over a program to increase the volume of Italian investments and joint projects to transfer Italian technology to Egypt.
