Continued Israeli attacks against South Lebanon
The Israeli occupation forces on Friday deported a Lebanese soldier to the outside the Israeli held border zone in South Lebanon after he was suspended for 13 days in al-Khayyam prison. Lebanese military sources said that the Israeli forces deported sergeant Amin Youssef Abi Dihn from the town of Hasbaya through the Zimraya passage in the Western Bekaa.

Morocco will stage a new anti-poverty campaign next November 2-10. The campaign, to be held under the chairmanship of King Mohammed VI, will feature various cultural and social events to show solidarity with the poor. According to official estimates, some 13% of the Moroccan 28-million strong population live on less that $ 1 a day.

More than 80% of the Moroccan print media journalists observed a strike on Friday, the Moroccan Press Union (SNPM) said. The rate reached 100% in some dailies, SNPM Secretary-General, Younes Moujahid, told the press. The strike was meant to put pressure on employers to improve the journalists moral and material situation.

A French diplomatic source said on Friday that French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine will tour the Mid-East region in the mid of November. The tour will mainly deal with the ME peace process. Algerian Interior Minister Abd El-Malek Sellal said yesterday that 700 armed persons surrendered to the Algerian authorities since issuing the national rapport law in last June referring that 72 of the individuals live abroad, expressing his hope in continuing the surrender operations despite of the pressures practiced by the extremists elements to prevent those who want to surrender.
