Morocco stages anti-poverty campaign

Morocco will stage a new anti-poverty campaign next November 2-10. The campaign, to be held under the chairmanship of King Mohammed VI, will feature various cultural and social events to show solidarity with the poor. According to official estimates, some 13% of the Moroccan 28-million strong population live on less that $ 1 a day.
Morocco currently ranks 125 on the UNDP standing of world nations in terms of human development, education, health, life expectancy and per capital income.
